The OVH Specialist Breeding Centre has been diagnosing and treating reproductive problems for many years. The centre is run by Professor David Pascoe who is Queensland’s only registered Equine Reproduction Specialist.
Our Centre has a special stallion facility which allows us to complete a full breeding examination of the stallion using an array of diagnostic equipment that allows us to perform tests on the stallion’s reproductive tract. The Centre will also look at any behavioural issues that stallions may develop which may limit or inhibit your stallion’s fertility.
The OVH Specialist Breeding Centre also specialises in mare infertility. It has a range of diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, videoendoscope and laparoscopy that allows us to fully evaluate any reproductive issues that your mare may have.
The Oakey Veterinary Hospital has a long and prestigious history as a first class surgical referral facility. The hospital has a purpose built theatre and padded recovery room that allows us to safely anaesthetise and recover your horse.
All current surgical procedures are performed at Oakey Veterinary Hospital, and these include keyhole surgery (arthroscopy and laparoscopy), fracture repair, upper respiratory tract surgery, gastrointestinal (e.g. colic) surgery; urogenital surgery ( bladder), ophthalmic (e.g. eye) surgery and laser surgery just to name a few of the procedures.
Our surgeons are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to accept emergencies, providing peace of mind to both clients and referring veterinarians alike.
