Shock Wave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave therapy (ESWT) is available through our Dolorclast machine. This mode of therapy uses high energy waves or pulses to enhance bone growth, increase blood supply, decrease inflammation and provide a local analgesic effect.
Conditions such as sore shins, splints, stress fractures, suspensory ligament strains, ligament attachment injuries - or any condition where enhanced bone deposition is required - can all be treated with shockwave therapy. Usually three treatments are given, two to three weeks apart. The machine is portable, so treatments at a stable or yard are possible by appointment.
